The development is being developed by Nshama Development, founded in 2014 by a small group of Emaar professionals.

The total area of the development is 750 acres, making it larger than Downtown Dubai. When completed, it will house 3,500 townhouses, 18,000 apartments and a 2.5 million square foot shopping district with more than 600 stores, restaurants and bars.

Sales at Town Square began in February 2015 with the offering of 300 Zahra townhomes. Sales of the second phase, 730 Hayat homes, began in March. These homes feature a rear garden and are offered with three or four bedrooms, a master bedroom with en-suite bathroom and patio doors leading to a private terrace. Prices reportedly start from UAE Dh1 million for a three-bedroom home.

By September 2020, most of the construction that had begun had been completed, including all of the apartment buildings except Una, which was in the final stages of completion. The remaining cottage communities were also nearing completion. The city park had already opened and looked very attractive. The hidden speakers playing classical and jazz music also created a pleasant impression. A few grocery stores and restaurants had opened near the main entrance, but the rest of the amenities were still limited. Trees and plants along the main roads have developed well.

Nshama predicts that by 2025, about 85,000 people will live and work in Town Square.

Berkshire Park
