Exeter Club Room

Information about the object

The Exeter Club Room project transformed a century-old, deteriorated building—once used for storage and maintenance—into a luxurious communal space for residents of the 161-unit Exeter Mill Apartments. The design highlights the original exposed brick and timber beams, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. A central fireplace anchors a cozy seating area, while a catering kitchen with a bar, a large farm table, and multiple conversation zones enhance the room’s functionality. There is also a separate space designed for private meetings and dinners.

To preserve the building’s striking historic features, the team approached demolition and restoration with surgical precision. The Chinburg Design Team focused on maintaining the structure’s natural textures and celebrating key architectural elements, such as the large round window at the front. The result embodies Chinburg Properties’ hallmark approach: revitalizing underused or abandoned historic structures into beautiful spaces for modern living, working, and gathering.
